What are some of the most effective ways to communicate with students' families? - behavior report cards

I would be happy replies educational professionals (teachers, counselors, principals, therapists, etc.)

How often have you sharing information with families about the behavior of individual children or scientific progress? What formats (cards, notes, phone calls, etc.)?
Are there things that limit their ability to communicate effectively with the families?
